Smits Vastgoedzorg advises and supports clients in the successful development and delivery of renovation and maintenance projects within the existing housing stock. The organisation has developed strongly in performance-based renovation and maintenance, resulting in a growing and changing organisation.
To sustainably anchor that development, Smits Vastgoedzorg worked with Jester on the concrete translation and implementation of the strategy in the organisation. The focus was not only on direction but on making the strategy practical: how do you ensure it truly lands in daily practice?
In close collaboration with the management team, the strategy was translated into concrete handles for execution. The process consisted of four connected steps:
1. Insight as the basis for execution: analysis of the current business model gave clear insight into the strengths and vulnerabilities of the organisation.
2. Concrete translation from direction to design: the strategic direction was worked out in a future business model.
3. Bringing focus with priorities: the strategy was translated into concrete strategic priorities.
4. Implementation: steering on results. Strategic ambitions were converted into concrete objectives, KPIs per department and action plans. Strategy maps and balanced scorecards were developed for each department.
The trajectory produced a strategy that not only sets direction but is truly executable within the organisation. Thanks to the structured approach and emphasis on concrete deliverables, the strategy is broadly supported and practically applicable.
"A key added value of this engagement with Jester is that they made us see that, alongside sharpening our strategy to respond to challenges in our external environment, we also needed to realign parts of our business model with the new situation created by the rapid growth of the company."
– Hans van der Krogt, Smits Vastgoedzorg
