The more stakeholders involved in decision-making within an organisation, the more delicate the process of setting strategy. NV schade is the disability insurer for the metal and engineering sector and is owned by the social partners (employers and employees) in this sector. This 'parity' character runs through all layers: not only the shareholders' meeting represents employers and employees, but so do the executive board and the supervisory board.
At the request of the executive board, Jester Strategy supported the organisation in shaping a new multi-year strategy. In the trajectory Jester used the Strategy Cube. In six steps, strategic questions, design criteria, internal analysis, external analysis, strategic direction and strategic choices, a concrete strategy was developed.
The internal and external analysis surfaced many ideas for development directions. In the final phase the development directions were made concrete using an OGSM. The executive board, the management team and the supervisory board were closely involved throughout the process.
"In the strategy process, Jester knew how to put everyone in their role and at their strongest. Management came forward with well-founded proposals. The board chose a coherent package of measures, and the supervisory board was enabled to test the process."
