After developing the well-supported strategy, the focus at JIJWIJ shifted to translating the course into concrete actions within the network organisation. In a collaboration involving several parties, it is essential that a strategy not only sets direction, but is also workable for everyone involved.
In a separate "From strategy to action" session, the strategy was translated into a concrete annual plan for 2026. Strategic choices were turned into concrete actions, priorities were set for the short term, tasks were distributed across various working groups, and ownership was explicitly assigned inside the organisation.
The strength of the approach lies in combining shared direction with decentralised execution. Working groups take responsibility for specific themes, while the board steers on coherence and progress.
The result is a strategy that is not only broadly supported, but also concretely workable. With the annual plan as its basis, JIJWIJ has a practical steering instrument to work on its strategic objectives in a focused way in 2026 and to adjust course where needed.
