OGSM for strategy and execution

The Albert Schweitzer Hospital is a general hospital delivering top-level clinical care and (basic) care close to people. The hospital's multi-year strategy is: work smarter, work more efficiently and collaborate better across the care chain, so that its patients can count on the best care every day, with head, heart and soul. Four strategic pillars are central: healthy professional, healthy patient, healthy organisation and healthy environment.

Jester Strategy was asked to train teams in the OGSM method and guide them in the process of drawing up an annual plan using OGSM.

We started with a pilot to arrive at a tightly focused annual plan for the whole organisation. During this pilot, two departments drew up an annual plan using OGSM. Jester Strategy then delivered the training to all departments in the hospital and trained a number of policy staff in the OGSM method. The organisation-wide annual plan formed the basis for the annual plan of each department. After all departments had drawn up an annual plan, Jester Strategy guided the bringing together of the annual plans into the higher objective: the organisation-wide annual plan.
