Albeda in Rotterdam is a regional institution for senior secondary vocational education (mbo) and adult education. Within Albeda, the Hospitality cluster runs the Travel & Leisure college, the Hospitality college, the Facility & Safety college and the RTHA college. Both the hospitality sector and education are in constant motion.
The Hospitality management team ran through the scenario planning process in a one-day working session. The trend analysis surfaced two core uncertainties: the nature of (socio-societal) connections and the balance between people and technology. On that basis four scenarios were developed.
The team decided together that it wants to prepare for a future in which education becomes more personal and at the same time more digital. A future in which the cluster collaborates even more closely with industry. Building on these choices, the team sketched out what the cluster should look like in 2030. These actions form the building blocks for the policy plan for the coming years.
"During the working sessions, Jester provided the structure that helped us achieve great results in a short time."
– Bertho Rombout, Director of the Hospitality cluster at Albeda
